Brief history of gamp
GAMP was founded in 1974 by Dr. Jack Carr. Carr not only founded the school, he also served as assistant principal and principal until retiring in June 2013. GAMP was housed at a variety of locations until moving into the Edgar Allen Poe building (about which you can learn more in the Neighborhood History section under Society in School) in 1979. In 2009, the new wing of the building which includes a theater, gymnasium and cafeteria was completed. [1]
